About the Legacy Center

What is the Belle Hampton Legacy Center?
The Belle Hampton Legacy Center is a nonprofit organization in Dublin, Virginia, dedicated to helping families preserve their stories, strengthen their values, and plan for the future. Through education, restoration, and storytelling, we make heritage a catalyst for innovation and hope.

What makes the Legacy Center unique?
We blend historic preservation with family education. Our programs turn history into hands-on learning—connecting past, present, and future generations through experiences that inspire leadership and stewardship.

Is the Belle Hampton Legacy Center affiliated with Belle Hampton Farm?
Yes. The Legacy Center is rooted in Belle Hampton Farm, a working farm in Dublin, VA that has been in the Hoge family since 1767. Tom and Madeline Hoge, who restored the farm, founded the Legacy Center to share what they learned and help other families do the same.

Programs & Events

What kinds of programs do you offer?
Belle Hampton Legacy Center offers programs built around the three challenges family businesses and family farms face most: knowing when and how to pass the torch, building the next generation of leaders, and staying connected to the values that made the enterprise worth preserving in the first place. Current and upcoming offerings include:

  • Community events — gatherings that bring families, historians, and local leaders together on historic ground

  • Heritage workshops — hands-on learning experiences connecting past lessons to present decisions

  • Family business forums — peer conversations around succession, governance, and long-term planning

  • Educational retreats — leadership and legacy programming for families navigating generational transition

What is the Red, White, and You event?
White, and You — 250 Years of American History is our inaugural event, taking place September 6, 2026, at Belle Hampton Farm. It brings together families, historians, and community leaders to celebrate America's 250th anniversary and the farm's own 250+ year history. Get your tickets here.

Can I host a family or group event at the Legacy Center?
Yes. Belle Hampton Farm's historic setting is available for corporate retreats and educational gatherings. Contact us to discuss your event.
